I was in the Air Force from 1961-'65, served at SAC Base in Altus Okla. then on to RAF Brize Norton. It was while I was at Brize that I first saw, in person, this cool aircraft. The crew chief told me that the 58 used it's weight in parts a year, otherwise, it was one fine airplane.

I worked on these aircraft in SAC 1962-1966 at
Carswell AFB, Tx & Little rock AFB, AR for the 43rd Bomb Wing...this picture looks like it's either taking off from or landing at Carswell AFB just outside Ft. Worth, Tx....lots of fond memories!!!

Fast and beautifull. Set many speed records in its short history. Aditional Fuel and weapon carried in detatchable pod slung under aircraft.

This is a favorite from the early Strategic Air Command.Very Nice.
