When this aircraft was introduced the allied forces had absolutely nothing remotely this advanced to combat this fearsome aircraft.
Unfortunately it was late in the war and it really did not have a huge impact .
Technologically speaking it sparked a race to create the Jet age of aviation.

You say 'when this aircraft was introduced America had.........'. Why mention America ? Was America the only country which fought Nazi Germany ? I don't think so.
