The Lockheed AC-130 'Spectre' is a C-130 transport converted into a gunship. The AC-130 is used for Close Air Support (CAS), air interdiction, force interdiction and Counter Insurgency Ops. There are currently two variants of AC-130 the "H" and the "U" versions; the H model is equipped with two M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannons, a single 40mm L-60 Bofors gun and a 105mm howitzer. The U model carries the Bofors gun and the howitzer but has the two Vulcans replaced with a single 25mm GAU-12/U gun.
