the F-18A was equipped with the newest radar Hughes APG-65, extremely advanced, with full multi-mode capability, and the pilot had available a very modern cockpit, with a series of multi-function display that allowed him to view and manage all the data necessary. The slots allocated to Sparrow missiles could be installed a couple of navigation and attack pod as the Nite Hawk FLIR, the TINS, a laser spot tracker.
