Wallpaper Description:
MV-22 Osprey Tiltrotor Aircraft refueling.
The Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey is a multi-mission, military, tiltrotor aircraft with both a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability. It is designed to perform missions like a conventional helicopter with the long-range, high-speed cruise performance of a turboprop aircraft. The V-22 was developed and is manufactured jointly by Bell Helicopter, and Boeing Rotorcraft Systems. It is operated by the United States Marine Corps and Air Force.

It does work, but I still think it was a a collisal mistake. It will kill many Marine pilots before they give up on it. Consider the wing stress when the engines go vertical. I don't know how they mount them, but the mounts will most likely wear out quickly. When the Harrier VSTOL came out it was nicknamed the "widow maker," as was the F-11, and not this. The F-35 is a disaster waiting to happen.

nice shot. these type of VTOLS worry me a bit, like what happens if a blade shears off when flying forward and the blades are facing forward.
