Ehhhh, I wouldn't call it an "airplane" per se. This is a Valkyrie VF-1 transformable mecha fighter, a fictional military craft from the Japanese anime universe of Macross. It is only one of many such transforming craft in anime, borrowed in the US cartoon Robotech and also as the original Autobot aircraft Jetfire.

But it IS a nice shot. :-)
