This aircraft isn't the original,but is wearing the the markings and depicting the 91st Bomb Group B-17G " Nine-O-Nine ",it completed 140 combat missions,believed to be the Eighth Air Force record for combat missions in WW2 and never lost a crewman as a casualty.

The reason I date this pic as 1943 is the painted finish of the aircraft. By 1944 most aircraft were flying in what amounts to a bare metal finish, with the only paint being national insignia and ship identification markings.
