The Yak-3U was Russia’s final variant of their famed Yak 3 fighter line. They re-engined the Yak 3 with a 1630 HP Ash-82FN radial engine. This proved to be a very successful design, but arrived just too late as the first Soviet jets were taking over the flight lines.
Will Whiteside owns and operates this beautiful, world record setting Yakovlev Yak-3U "SteadFast" , rebuilt and now operating with a Pratt & Whitney R2000-7M2 radial engine ( 1,650 hp with A.D.I. ).
